JV Coach, Shannon Murray, is brand new to the Broncos volleyball program and “stoked” for an awesome first season. A graduate of Poway High School, Coach Shannon began her volleyball career in 6th grade after messing around with some friends in P.E. and discovering she not only had talent, but a surprisingly competitive spirit when playing the game. Soon after, she joined San Diego Volleyball Club and then EPIC where she rotated between Middle Blocker and Opposite. In high school, realizing a growth spurt wasn’t exactly in her 5’4” future, she moved to Libero where she had great success. Coupled with an even more successful soccer career, Coach Shannon chose not to pursue a collegiate spot at Arizona State and instead chose to play club and focus harder on her academics; a choice that allowed her to graduate from ASU’s Barrett Honors College in three years with a double major.
After a brief stint in D.C., Coach Shannon moved back to San Diego where she currently works as the Outside Sales and Event Director for Road Runner Sports, a specialty running store in Kearny Mesa. A huge proponent of fitness and endurance, Coach Shannon is excited to don the Bronco blue for the first time and hopes to lead her team to success both in the court and in the classroom.

There she played Opposite, and was a kill leader for the team. Eicher decided to return to San Diego and transferred to San Diego Christian College where she played for 3 years. Her final season at SDCC was an exciting season as she was the starting Outside Hitter for her team. In the Golden State Athletic Conference (GSAC) Alyssa finished #12 for kills, tallying 218 kills for the season. Her highs of the 2016 season were against Vanguard University tallying 15 kills with only 2 errors out of 30 attempts, earning a .433 hitting percentage, and vs. Life Pacific College she got 14 kills with 1 error out of 20 attempts, earning a .650 hitting percentage.
Coach Alyssa looks forward to every season, excited to welcome new faces to the program, as well as the returning Broncos.
